'CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY'

This is my FINAL final piece for my Publishing module. I handed it in this morning, but won't find out what i got for a couple of weeks EEEK! I feel really proud of what I've done, and I love the way it looks, purely because it took me so flipping long to do!

The aim of this theatre piece is for parents to buy it for their children to accompany story telling, but also something that can be kept on display in the family home, rather than in a box.

The frames inside the concertina are all removable, and additional story packs would be available to buy to fit in the same theatre (hence the labeling and packaging of the packs of frames above).

CUT IT OUT & GET CLOSURE

This is my second outcome for my Publishing Studies module, which is based around the theme of 'Closure' and my sub-theme of 'Cut It Out'. I chose to use the last scene of classic books and freeze it in time in a theatre. The theatre will be able to hold many different stories, and the 4 slides can be interchangeable to mix up the stories.

The story shown in the theatre above is the last scene from Alice in Wonderland. At the moment I am working on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as an alternate pack of slides.

My final piece will be the theatre frame (hopefully with somekind of title or decoration on), 2 sets of 4 slides, and labels with summaries of the stories on.

I feel ok about the time I have left before final assessments, even though it's only 5 days! Wish me luck.

LITTLE THEATRE ON THE PRAIRIE

This is my final piece for the first part of my Publishing Studies brief: CLOSURE. We had to choose a sub-word from the theme Closure, and i chose CUT OUT. I based my idea on a Victorian Toy Theatre, and used an old children's book "Little House On The Prairie" to cut up and make a 3D theatre from the last scene of the book, to link in with Closure, and also Cutting it out. I'm really pleased with what i've done, even though i did stay up ALL night doing it cos i'm such a perfectionist! The day i handed it in was INSANE. Hardly anyone had had any sleep so we were all laughing at nothing and seeing things in complete dazes!

Anyway, i get to develop this piece for the second part of the CLOSURE brief, which needs to be made into something that has a purpose in the Graphic Design world. I have NO idea what i'm going to do here, cos i don't want it to be predictable...
